Serving the communities we helped build
The Cahill story begins with John J. Cahill, a hopeful Irish immigrant who planted his roots in Chicago and the North Shore in the 1880s. Possessing only his plumbing trade, he established his first plumbing shop in Chicago in 1890, soon followed by shops across the North Shore—including Evanston, our present-day headquarters.
He rapidly built a reputation for hard work, quality and honesty, and his dedicated service set the stage for a legacy we continue to uphold. Fast forward 135 years, and we remain a family-owned and operated business, steered by third, fourth and fifth generations of the Cahill family. You’ve probably seen our orange trucks—an enduring symbol of our dedication to the North Shore—in your neighborhood.
From our family to yours, we’re proud to serve the community we call home.
